Larry's Instrumental Tuning

Postby PostModernOne » Mon Apr 05, 2010 9:09 am

While I am not the owner of a harp guitar (I have an 8 string that is just too strange), I am wondering what the tuning is for Larry's Instrumental off "Santa Bear's First Christmas". I just hear it again on Youtube today and remembered how amazing it was. Why the hell does this song seem to be lost in the Michael Hedges oeuvre?
By the way, I spoke to someone about two weeks ago who used to make gear for Michael Hedges. They were good friends as well. He said that he believes that, with all due respect to the new players out there, there is STILL a void left that nobody has filled.

Try tuning the guitar part to the same tuning as Because It's There, and tune your extra string to any open sub bass strings you hear. It's been so long since I played the harp guitar, but I recall he typically left the guitar part tuned the same for any of the songs he performed on it (ie: Because, Comfortably Numb, No Expectations).
